Ovo Frito Cafe: A Flavorful Breakfast Experience in Evanston

This place is a must if you're visiting the area. I'm here from Texas, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The service is the best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the Skirt Steak Benedict. Wow.

To be fair the place was packed and busy with the Saturday morning crowd. However we were seated quickly and attended to immediately, the place is quaint and there is outdoor dining. Menu is great with plenty of options and food was delivered quickly. Great little find and will definitely go back (probably during the week to really enjoy it).

1st time The menu was full of what looked like delicious options- eggs , sandwiches , omelets, and more. The smell of lime ???? was on the air as someone squeezed fresh juice. Derrick’s Favorite Eggs. Potato chorizo hash topped with 2 eggs made to order, cheese and guacamole. 10/10 Bursting with flavor from the chorizo and peppers. Just enough heat for a morning dish. Perfectly over-hard eggs without being dry. Plus sourdough toast on the side. Looking forward to coming back and trying more

So basically the food was really good, the restaurant was really good, the service was really good, and we loved our waiter. However I can never come back. I’m a curse to this restaurant. From the second my converse touched the ground havoc began. I do know why but I think I am a bad person. I will not be back because I simply refuse to cause these kind souls any more trouble. I am sorry I looked at the waiter with the glasses I don’t know what is wrong with me but when I looked at him the glass broke. Shout out to our waiter for being a king. Sorry my friends credit card had a vendetta against you and I hope you have a good life.

Stopped here on a visit from out of town and were pleasantly surprised. This place was fire. I got the chilaquiles and my wife got the corn flake French toast. Both were delicious and fresh. The chilaquiles were crispy cheesy and the sauce was authentic and just the right amount of spice (I got the green sauce). The French toast was crunchy and just the right amount of sweet. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.

Ate here on Mother's Day and they gave out free long stem roses to moms. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The menu has a great variety of sweet and savory dishes. The food came out SO fast and was delicious and authentic. Highly recommended.

YUMMMMMM. That pretty much sums up our meal here. Since it was about 10:00 on a weekday, we were able to walk right in and be seated, but I can imagine this place is wildly popular on weekends and holidays. My much-needed coffee was excellent. We split the El Guero Omelette and the Strawberry French Toast, and both were delicious! I also loved the sunny vibe and the light filled interior, though the outdoor seating would be lovely on a pretty day. I’ll definitely be back!
